Where Learning Takes Place
The world has turned upside down, leaving the workplace environment stunned. More than ever, employees are expected to perform at their highest levels professionally and personally. This is very challenging and sometimes seemingly impossible.
Understanding where learning takes place allows for extraordinary achievements. Knowing this model prepares you to anticipate what will happen, when it will happen and what you need to do. The company is now positioned to think and act innovatively to maintain a competitive edge.
It always helps to apply this to a real example. For instance, the Coronavirus has shaken up the status quo of organizations. As a result, those commonly held organizational patterns of thinking and behaving are thrown into chaos. This is an opportunity for leadership to remain aligned with their vision and mission. Focused and intentional about any changes they want to make. As Aristotle said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Therefore, excellence is a habit.” This is where organizational learning at the highest level takes place. In time, a new status quo is established.
